Obituary of Iris Delvalle

Iris M. Delvalle, age 76, of Stratford passed away into the peaceful rest of the Lord on Monday, January 9, 2012, in St. Vincent's Medical Center. Iris was born in Vega Alta, Puerto Rico but had relocated to the Bridgeport area since the early age of 16. Iris is the daughter of the late Fulgencio Navedo Martinez and the late Julia Ortiz Gonzalez; Besides her biological mother she also considered Juana Gonzalez like her mother as she was very instrumental in her upbringing as a child and therefore loved her as her own mother. She is the beloved wife of Juan Delvalle whom she married over 40 years ago. In addition to her husband she is survived by her sons Julio Diaz and Jose A. Diaz of Bridgeport; her brother Luis M. Navedo, Americo Navedo, Andres Navedo, Juan B. Navedo, Juan P. Navedo, Manuel A. Navedo and Santos Navedo; her sisters Rosa M. Navedo, Arcadia Navedo, Aida Lina Navedo Carmen M. Navedo, and Maria M. Navedo; sixteen grandchildren and nine great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends who will dearly miss her. Iris was predeceased by one son the late Milton Santos. Friends are invited to attend calling hours on Friday, January 13, 2012 from 6-8 P.M. at the Funeraria Luz de Paz, ( Peaceful Light Funeral Home),. 426 E. Washington Ave., Bridgeport, CT; Funeral services have been scheduled for Saturday, January 13, 23012 begnning at 8:00 A.M. at the Funeral Home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Mary's Church.
