Obituary of Carmen Santiago

Carmen Santiago, age 79, of Bridgeport passed away into the peaceful rest of the Lord on Monday, December 19, 2011 in her home while surrounded by her loving family. Carmen is the daughter of the late Francisco Hernandez and the late Trinidad Rodriguez; Carmen was born in Quebradillas, Puerto Rico before moving into the Bridgeport area many years ago. She was an active member of St. Peter's Parish for many years, since the time of St. Anthony's Parish. Carmen was a loving woman, and a woman loved by so many who surrounded her; Wherever she went, church, social gatherings, parties, and picnics, many gravitated towards her loving, caring and wholesome personality. Carmen is survived by her sons Juan J. Santiago of Bridgeport and Edwin Santiago and his wife Maria of Tampa, Florida; Her loving daughter and faithful travel companion who never left her side, Evelyn Santiago of Bridgeport; her sisters Eusebia Hernandez of Bridgeport and Carmen L. Hernandez and Aurea Hernandez both of Quebradillas, Puerto Rico; five grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends who will dearly miss her. Friends are invited to attend calling hours on Thursday, December 22, 2011, from 7-9 P.M. at the Funeraria Luz de Paz, (Peaceful Light Funeral Home), 426 E. Washington Ave., Bridgeport; Funeral services have been scheduled for Friday, December 23, 2011 beginning at 9:00 A.M. at the funeral home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Peter's Parish.
