Obituary of Eduardo Fernandes DeGouveia

Eduardo Fernandes DeGouveia, 79, entered into peaceful rest on July 18, 2017, with his loving wife Ines by his side. The son of Joao and Natividade DeGouveia, he was born in Madeira Portugal. 

A long time Bridgeport resident, he was employed at Sikorsky Aircraft and happily retired to travel back and forth to Madeira. In his younger days he enjoyed fishing and watching his vegetables grow. 

He is predeceased by his parents, brother Eugenio and son Joao Gouveia. He leaves behind his loving wife Ines, children Umberto, his fiancé Justyna, Maria, Teresa, Lucia, and her husband Jon. He is survived by his siblings Maria, Manuel, Nativdade, Rosa, Ilda, as well as nieces and nephews. He also leaves behind his seven grandchildren, Michael, Alyssa, Joseph, Miranda, Nathan, Shawn and Sara, whom he loved greatly. They enjoyed spending long weekends with him in the peace of his backyard. 

Calling hours are Friday July 21st 4-7pm at Funeraria Luz de Paz, 426 E. Washington Ave., Bridgeport. Mass at Our Lady of Fatima Church in Bridgeport, July 22nd at 10 am. He will be put to rest at Gates of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull CT.
