Obituary of Salomon Chevalier
Salomon “Lolo” Chevalier was born on September 3, 1978 in Port-au-Prince, Haiti. He was the son of Jean Maurice Chevalier and Mary-Rose Janvier. He grew up in Port-au-Prince and in the United States surrounded by many siblings and extended family. Salomon graduated from Western Connecticut State University with a Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing in 2002. For 15 years, he enjoyed his profession as a nurse, serving as a staff nurse at a variety of hospitals including in the Intensive Care Unit, and supervisor at several nursing homes. He was well respected and adored by peers, physicians, patients and their families. Salomon loved travelling, listening to music, going to the latest movie and spending time with his friends and family. He was very devoted to his children; they meant the world to him. Salomon had a big heart and was loved by many people. With his infectious laugh and generous spirit he could fill any room with happiness. He was very kind and often put the needs of others before his own. He brought fun and joy into the lives of everyone he encountered and will always be remembered for having the heart of a child. Salomon was preceded in death by both of his parents, Jean Maurice Chevalier and Mary-Rose Janvier. He will be lovingly missed by his Second Mother, Frida Johnston; his children, Sean, Levi, and Spring Chevalier as well as Davinhia Gata (whom he served as a father figure); his siblings, David, Daniel, Athena, Shaneen, Josue, Samuel, Joseph, Rebecca, Abigail, and Mardochee; his Uncle Jean Janvier and family as well as aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews and a host of friends too many to name. His family and friends will always remember him for his favorite quote “Ima Boss”.
