Obituary of Manuel A. Rivera

Manuel A. "Papo" Rivera, age 59 of Bridgeport, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, May 31, 2017 at St. Vincent's Medical Center, Bridgeport, CT. He was the beloved husband of Cecilia R. Rivera. Manuel was born in Barranquillas, Puerto Rico to the late Telesforo Rivera and Antonia Rodriguez. In addition to his wife he is also survived by his son Manuel "Moe" Rivera II; his daughter Ileana Cotto; his siblings Raul Rivera, Benito Rivera, Sonia Rivera, and Carmen Rivera; his grandchildren Joselyn, Leila, Abigail, Jeremiah, and Opie; and a host of other relatives and friends that will sorely miss him. Friends are invited to attend Calling Hours on Sunday, June 4, 2017 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Funeraria Luz de Paz (Peaceful Light Funeral Home), 426 E. Washington Ave., Bridgeport, CT. Funeral Services have been scheduled for Monday, June 5. 2017 DIRECTLY at St. George Church, 443 Park Ave, Bridgeport, CT, for a Mass of Christian burial.
