Obituary of Luis Cortes

Luis A. Cortes "Tony", age 47, of currently of East Haven, CT passed away into peaceful rest of the Lord on Saturday, November 12, 2011. Tony was born in Arecibo, Puerto Rico but had relocated to the United States many years ago. Luis is the son of the Late Herminio Cortes and the late Lydia Cortes; He was an extremely talented Hairdresser and had been employed for many years not only in New Haven but also in the Bridgeport Area. Luis had a contagious smile and he was loved by all who knew him. Survivors include his two sisters Betsy Garcia and her husband Josue of East Haven, CT and Olga Vargas and her husband Raymond of Branford, CT; his nieces, Kristine Avila and her husband Alex and Rebekah Quintanilla and her husband Ronald; his great niece Keyla Quintanilla and great nephew Lukas Avila; and a host of other relatives and friends who will sorely miss him. Friends are invited to attend calling hours on Wednesday, November 16, 2011 from 7 P.M. Until the end of Service at the Iglesia Segunda Estrella de Jacob, 201 Chapel Street, New Haven, CT; Funeral services have been scheduled for Thursday, November 15, 2011 beginning at 10:00 A.M. at the Church followed by interment in Evergreen Cemetery, New Haven, CT; The Funeraria Luz de Paz (Peaceful Light Funeral Home), 426 E.
