Dona Manuela Mami Vadi
Though she was small
She was fierce
But in such a graceful way
There is something so rich and yet so priceless
In the value of all the untold stories you have held within you and all the stories you have shared
Little Manuela held volumes of many decades
As she has held most of us in her arms
and by our hands
Guided us with her wisdom and pure compassion.
She has been there to celebrate our gains
and our losses.
Through the sorrows and the joys
Today is a day to splendor in the beauty
of roots turned skyward.
For us it is the end of an Era
But up above a star has been restored
A husband and children have been reunited
And It is an honor to know the root of which we have descended has ascended
