Obituary of Luis Manuel Martinez

Luis Manuel Martinez, age 58 of Shelton, returned to the loving arms of the Lord on Thursday December 29, 2016 at Bridgeport Hospital. He is the beloved husband of Marlin Martinez. Luis was born in Utuado, Puerto Rico; son of the late Miguel and Alicia Martinez prior to relocating to Connecticut many years ago. He proudly served our nation as a Sergeant in the Army and after his discharge, worked as a Electrical Technician for the USPS.Luis is the loving father of Alyssa and Alina Martinez; and the caring brother of Dora Coriano, Carmen Testa, Roger Martinez, Mikey Martinez, Linda Murphy, Jerry Martinez, Essie Campbell, Jorge Perez, and Luisette Ortiz. He is also survived by many other family members and friends that will dearly miss him. Friends and family are invited to attend Calling Hours on Monday, January 2, 2017 from 3 - 6 pm at the Funeraria Luz de Paz, 426 E. Washington Ave., Bridgeport, CT 06608. Funeral Services are scheduled for Tuesday, January 3, 2017 beginning at 10 a.m. in the Funeral Home. His burial will follow at the State Veterans Cemetery, Middletown, CT.
