Obituary of Beatriz Alvarez

Beatriz Alvarez, age 79, of Bridgeport entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, October 12, 2016 at St. Vincent's Hospital, Bridgeport, CT. Beatriz is the beloved wife of Carlos Alvarez. She was born in Colombia, daughter of the late Agustin Rubio and Florentina Segura; prior to relocating to the Bridgeport area many years ago. Beatriz was a compassionate, spiritual, and hardworking woman who loved gardening, especially cultivating beautiful roses. She also loved animals and was faithfully spiritual. She is the loving mother of Carlos (Roberta) Alvarez, Jr. and Carmen (Isadore) Balcastro. She is also survived by many relatives and friends that will sorely miss her. Friends are invited to attend calling hours on Friday, October 14, 2016 from 5 p.m. - 8 p.m. at the Funeraria Luz de Paz, (Peaceful Light Funeral Home), 426 E. Washington Ave., Bridgeport, CT. On Saturday, October 15 2016 at 9:00 a.m. friends are invited DIRECTLY to St. Mary's Church, 25 Sherman St. Bridgeport, CT 06608. Her interment will follow at St. Michael's Cemetery, Bridgeport.
