Obituary of Emilio Enrique Cuevas

Emilio Enrique Cuevas, 67 years old entered into eternal rest on August 24, 2016. Emilio was a life long resident of Bridgeport, CT. He was the second child born to Enrique Cuevas (deceased) and Esmeralda Cuevas on January 6, 1949. Emilio Graduated from Bassick High School in 1969, soon afterward he began working at Dupont/ Fairprene where he remained until retirement. Emilio is survived by his wife and lifetime love of forty two years, Lucy Cuevas; his two children Emilio Cuevas, Jr. and Enelly Cuevas Sanchez; his four grandsons David, Daniel, Joshua, and Jose Sanchez. He is also survived by his siblings Blanca Eller and Ariel Cuevas; and a host of nieces and nephews whom he raised as if they were his own children, it was this same love for children that Emilio combined with his love of sports in joining the West End Minor League as a coach then as president until the end of the program. Friends are invited to attend calling hours on Sunday, August 28, 2016, from 5 - 7 p.m. at the Funeraria Luz de Paz, (Peaceful Light Funeral Home), 426 E. Washington Ave., Bridgeport, CT. Funeral Services have been schedule for Monday, August 29, 2016 starting at 10:00 a.m. at Good Shepherd Christian Church, 725 Hancock Ave, Bridgeport, CT. Interment will follow at Lakeview Cemetery, 885 Boston Ave., Bridgeport, CT.
