Obituary of Gilbert James, Sr.

Gilbert James, Sr., age 61, of Bridgeport entered into eternal rest suddenly on Monday, August 22, 2016 in Bridgeport Hospital, Bridgeport, CT. Gilbert was born in Bridgeport, CT to Ora James and the late Butler Gilbert James. He was employed by Sikorsky for thirty six years. He had many passions but singing and fishing were his favorite ones. In addition to his mother he is also survived by his beloved wife Nereida James; his son Gilbert James, Jr. (Lakisha); his daughter Eboni James; his siblings Edward James, Deborah James Bridges, Minnie James, Kathy M. James Carr; four grandchildren; and a host of relatives and friends that will miss him dearly. Friends are invited to attend calling hours on Saturday, August 27, 2016 from 8 a.m. - 10:00 a.m. followed by a service ALL at the East End Baptist Church, 548 Central Ave. Bridgeport. Interment will follow at Lakeview Cemetery, 885 Boston Ave., Bridgeport, CT.
