Obituary of Francisca "Paquita" Rosado

Francisca "Paquita" Rosado, age 74 of Bridgeport, returned to the loving arms of the Lord on Wednesday, June 1, 2016 at Bridgeport Hospital. Francisca was the beloved wife of the late Benedicto "Benny" Rosado, to whom she was married for 57 years. Paquita was born in Guaynabo, Puerto Rico; daughter of the late Bernabe Avila and Anastacia Reyes prior to relocating to the Bridgeport area many years ago. She owned and operated, along with her late husband, Guaynabo Grocery on Bridgeport's East Side. She is survived by her sons Benedicto Rosado, Jr., Hector Rosado and Nelson Rosado; her daughters Madeline Malave and her husband Jose and Lizette Martinez and her husband Adalberto whom Paquita considered like her own son; her grandchildren Melissa Perez, Jose Malave, Jonathan Diaz, Jaileen Reyes, Jailisa Reyes, and Jillian Reyes many other grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, friends and other family members who will miss her dearly. She was predeceased in death by her sons Harry and Ricky Rosado. Friends are invited to attend calling hours on Monday, June 6, 2016 at the Funeraria Luz de Paz (Peaceful Light Funeral Home) 426 E. Washington Ave., Bridgeport from 6 pm to 8 pm. Funeral Services are scheduled for Tuesday, June 7, 2016 starting at 9:00 a.m. at the Funeral Home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Charles Borromeo Roman Catholic Church, Bridgeport. Her burial will follow at Park Cemetery, Bridgeport.
