Obituary of Maria Cabañas

Maria Cabañas, age 87, of Bridgeport passed away into the Peaceful rest of the Lord on Sunday, June 5, 2011 in Astoria Park Nursing Facility while surrounded by her loving family. Maria is the daughter of the late Trinidad Cabañas and the late Simona Martinez; Maria was born in Honduras but had moved to the United States to be with her family over 10 years ago. She is the wife of the late Manuel de Jesus Gomez; Maria was a precious woman who everyone who met her fell in love with her. Truly a priceless Gem. Maria is survived by her daughters Ana M. Muñoz of Belize; Berta Gomez of Honduras and Blanca Gomez de Rivera of Bridgeport; 34 grandchildren, many great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; and other relatives and friends who will dearly miss her. Friends are invited to attend calling hours on Wednesday, June 8, 2011 from 7-9 P.M. at the Funeraria Luz de Paz, ( La Funeraria de NUESTRO Pueblo), 426 E. Washington Ave. Bridgeport, CT; Funeral Services have been scheduled for Thursday, June 9, 2011 beginning at 10:00 A.M. at the Funeral home followed by interment in Mt.
