Joao Botelho was a loving respectful man, known by many and loved by all. He was known to many as a son, husband, father, uncle, but to us he was the best grandfather a child could ask for. I thank God for giving me the opportunity to have him in my life, the momments I had with him are very special to me. Although he was been taken from us he is not gone, he lives on forever in our hearts and minds for memories are eternal. There were many tough times through the years and no matter what he was always by our side with nothing but love he always had inspirational words that knew how to change sadness to smiles. He was a man that knew how to lighten up a room. I wished I could have told him how much he meant to us and how thankful we are for all he did for us, he believed in us and shared our hope. I will forever be thankful. Joao loved nature from fishing to his gardening the outdoors was where he loved to be. He wanted to share his interested with his grandson but as Jay got old enough to go with him he got too sick to take him, and even in his sickest days he would still tell us he was gonna get better and say "jonathan vovo is gonna take you fishing" unfortunately the time never came but in his honor I will make sure his grandson learns and I know he will be sitting by Jays side proud as Jay catches big ones just for him. Joao Botelho will live on forever within us and his legacy will continue to grow in a new garden of hopes and dreams

My Uncle John was a big hearted sweet man who love kids. I remember being a little girl and he taught me how to swim and play with me when they would come over in the summer. I will miss him dearly. He also loved to see my kids last summer, especially little Heahter. He also loved the color of Jessica's eyes. I wish we had more time to spend together. My heart goes out to my tia and the kids. I love you guys, and I will pray for you.
