Obituary of Luis Velez

VELEZ Luis R. Velez, age 51 of Bridgeport, passed away on January 21, 2011 at Bridgeport Hospital while surrounded by his loving family. Luis was born in Utuado, Puerto Rico, but had moved to the Bridgeport area many years ago. He was the son of the late Rafael Velez and the late Guillermina Oliveras. He is survived by his sons, Luis Velez Jr. (Luisito), Omar Velez and Luis Velez; brothers, Wilfredo and Edgar Velez; sisters, Aida Gonzalez, Olga Santiago, Janet Moreno and Norma Juarez; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends who will sorely miss him. Friends are invited to attend calling hours on Wednesday, January 26, 2011 from 7 to 9 p.m. in the Funeraria Luz de Paz (La Funeraira de NUESTRO Pueblo), 426 E. Washington Ave., Bridgeport. Funeral services have been scheduled for Thursday, January 27, 2011 beginning at 12:00 p.m. in the funeral home followed by interment in Lakeview Cemetery, Bridgeport.
